some quotes....

I just want to tell you, I'm the one who was supposed to take care of everything. I'm the one who was supposed to make everything okay for everybody. It just didn't work out like that. And I left. I left you... And now, I'm an old broken down piece of meat... and I'm alone. And I deserve to be all alone. I just don't want you to hate me.

Recent movies

1. Blue Valentine - 5/5 - Absolutely genius! One of the most painful love stories I've ever seen, but the extraordinary thing is, it is told in a deeply normal way. Worth my expectation!

2. Shaolin - 2/5 - The action part is fun to watch, the production value is quite ok but the story is crap - cliché (in a bad way), over-nationalist (or Chauvinist, in a way, as many Chinese movies are nowadays), over-acting (especially the too-bad-to-be-true Nicolas Tse), too many useless plot-devices (why the hell does Andy Lau practice kung-fu, really?). The part taken by Jackie Chan still made me a little bit happy though, since from Jackie Chan's short-but-funny-as-ever scenes, one could catch a glimpse of Drunken Master (1, 2) - the kind of movie that is extinct forever.

3. The Mechanic - 2/5 - Already slept before the climax so I don't know how it ends, but I don't care since the film is crap through and through. It's fun to watch Jason Statham with a fully naked woman, though, a surprising thing with that muscular guy, maybe he's on the way to a B-movie star?

4. Hop - 1/5 - Poor James Marsden, he comes from poor-destiny roles (frequently being ignored/dumped by girls in X-Men, Superman Returns, Enchanted) to poorly written character (in this new and horrible Hop). But blame anyone he can't, since through this movie, he showed off his ability of making a fun scene as unfunny as possible by chewing up every single scene he presents. The only good thing in this film might be the presence of Hank Azaria, the stoic David of Friends-my most favorite show, but Friends is no more, nowadays we have instead more and more nonsense movies like this Hop.

5. The King's Speech - 3/5 - Boring movie indeed. With no climax, no fully-created conflict between characters, no real protagonist (except for the brief presence of "the Hollywood's Devil of All Time" - Mr. Hitler), no one could make this movie interesting even the brilliant Colin Firth. I even prefer Tom Hooper's The Damned United to this one. Sadly those guys at the Academy love them more than the harder-to-swallow The Social Network.

6. Black Swan - 5/5 - Painful, physically and mentally, to watch.
